MONTESSORI EARLY CHILDHOOD OVERVIEW
100% online with either a spring or summer scheduling option

This year, the Montessori Early Childhood Overview will be 100% online and will extend over a 3-week period in August, with fifteen (15) synchronous live online hours, combined with an additional nine (9) hours of asynchronous work, for a total of 24 hours. The independent work will include a variety of things, such as discussion posts, readings, and videos.

A 24-hour (minimum) Early Childhood Overview is a requirement for those individuals enrolling in an Infant and Toddler Credential Program who do not already hold a MACTE recognized Montessori Early Childhood credential.
It is also an excellent option for others, such as parents, administrators, board members, classroom assistants, specialty teachers, etc., who wish either to gain an initial understanding or to deepen their existing understanding of the Montessori 3-6 classroom.

Areas of emphasis will include the Roots of the Montessori Method and the fundamentals of both Montessori theory and practice, including the 4 Planes of Development. Along with the concept of the Prepared Environment, participants will also be provided introductions to the core curriculum areas, together with an emphasis on the preparation of the adult.
