Registration Options



The Northeast Montessori Institute will offer an Infant and Toddler Course of Study starting this summer, 2015 on the campus of Gordon College. The course is designed to train adults working in an Infant Environment for children from birth to eighteen months as well as adults working in a Toddler Environment with children from eighteen months to three years of age. The course blends philosophy and pedagogy with designing beautiful and safe environments for children during this formative stage of their development. The course also includes components on working with families and building a trusting relationship based on clear communication and parent involvement. The course includes both an academic component spread over twelve months as well as a nine-month practicum component for the Adult Learner.

Course Schedule (2016-2017)

3-week summer session

The academic course work for the Infant and Toddler program on the North Shore is a three-week summer session, held at on the campus of Gordon College, in Wenham, Massachusetts. Classes are scheduled between 8:30 and 5:30 Monday through Friday. On-campus accommodations are available through the Institute.

Dates: Monday – Friday, July 11th – July 29th, 2016

Weekend Seminars

The academic phase also includes two weekend seminars, during the fall and spring. The seminars will be held at a location to be determined either in the Boston area or on the North Shore. These seminars will be a time for the continuation of academic course work and material reviews, as well as a time to reconnect with instructors and fellow participants. Lodging for the seminars is not available through the Institute and is the responsibility of the Adult Learner.

MONTESSORI EARLY CHILDHOOD COURSE
North Shore, Massachusetts

The Northeast Montessori Institute holds accredited status from the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE Commission) for its North Shore Early Childhood teacher education course and is affiliated by the American Montessori Society.

Course Schedule (2016-2017)

Summer Phase

The academic course work for the Early Childhood program on the North Shore begins with a four-week summer session, held at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. Classes are scheduled between 8:30 and 5:30 Monday through Friday. An alternative two-year schedule can be arranged with the approval of the Course Director. On-campus accommodations are available trough the Institute.

Weekend Seminars

(Though infrequent, please note that seminar dates and/or location may be subject to change.)

All academic classes (both the summer phase and seminars) will be held at Gordon College, in Wenham, MA. Lodging is available during the summer phase only on the campus of Gordon College at affordable rates. Lodging is not available through Gordon College or the Institute during seminars and is the responsibility of the student. Summer lodging arrangements (does not include meals) can be made by contacting the Institute office following admission to the program.



3-Day Montessori Early Childhood Overview

The Montessori Early Childhood Overview is designed for those individuals entering a Toddler level training program who do not have prior Early Childhood experience. (further details will be posted at a later date.)
