Montessori Toddler Overview with Marcia S. Hubelbank
The Toddler Overview will focus on how the Montessori approach supports the wonders and delights of toddler development. We will cover aspects of:
- Child development
- The preparation of the teacher
- The preparation of the environment
- Appropriate activities and materials
- How to establish and maintain effective routines and procedures
- How to assist independence
- How to effectively guide behaviors
- How to promote parent communication
The presentation will include making a toddler material, learning a number of songs, and viewing a variety of multimedia related to toddler development.
If participants should have the opportunity to do some reading before hand, even a few chapters, the following books are recommended:
- The Absorbent Mind, Montessori
- Montessori from the Start, Lillard and Lillard
- Understanding the Human Being, Monanato
- Oneness and Separation, Kaplan
